Elon Fischer, Innovation Fellow
Have you heard about the BHS record label? the virtual reality lab? the new bike repair program? How about the stock market investing competition, the cafeteria composting initiative, or the new program allowing students to donate unwanted cafeteria sides to a local food pantry?
BHS students are involved in an astonishing array of exciting activities, and 21st Century Fund Innovation Fellow Elon Fischer is on a mission to spread the word. He maintains a Facebook page and publishes a newsletter to keep students and parents up-to-date on the incredible opportunities at BHS. Click to read the inaugural issue, and the most recent issue.

Elon is also looking to increase opportunities for students by expanding partnerships with local businesses, colleges, museums, organizations and individuals who can offer experiences or advice. To get on the mailing list or to get involved, please contact
What's the Big Idea? 21st Century Fund Offers Master Class for Parents
Wish you could experience a 21st Century Fund class firsthand? We invite you to do just that on Monday, December 12, beginning at 7:00 pm in the MLK Room. BHS teacher Liz Gorman will start our Master Class for Parents by introducing the Mindfulness Initiative through a brief exercise similar to those practiced throughout BHS during the school day. Then Malcolm Cawthorne and Kate Leslie, teachers of the Racial Awareness Seminar , will give us an experience of that class. There is no charge to attend this event, but registration is encouraged since seating is limited.
