Love INC Connection
May 2017
Volume 4

Love in the Name of Christ - what an incredibly inspiring and yet overwhelmingly challenging christening for our organization. Ephesians 3:17-18 says, "I pray that you grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ." Can we live up to our title of Love in the Name of Christ?

It's certainly a daily goal to live up to that title - to try to grasp Christ's incredible love that led him to say, "Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing," while hanging on the cross. We continually strive to try and embrace that love ourselves and accept that He loves us no matter what kind of day we are having. We also strive to continuously share that same love with our neighbors in need.

In reality, we probably fall short in this endeavor time and time again. After all these years journeying with Jesus, I still don't think I fully grasp just how amazing Christ's love for us really is! When he was crucified, he loved those directly condemning and torturing him as much as those who were weeping over his death. It's hard to fathom and doesn't make any sense to us.

And sharing his love with others? Following his example of loving everyone no matter how they respond to our attempt to love them? That's exactly what we want to do at Love INC - share His love because we recognize that He loves us.

There are times when sharing that love doesn't always "feel" good. There are times we feel rejected as we try to go beyond providing material needs to our neighbors and work to build a relationship with them. Sometimes our efforts aren't appreciated or go unnoticed. But then there are times that sharing His love feels great because someone is so very appreciative of our help. Within the past couple of weeks, we've had a client who was so grateful for our assistance that he's started volunteering for us so that he can give back to others!

Regardless of the response we receive from our clients, though, Jesus wants us to share his love just because that's what He commanded. It's our desire to "love in the name of Christ" and we need your prayer and support to continue making a difference in lives and our community.

God Bless,

Ken

 Are you:

  • tired of enduring a daily barrage of lies and deception?
  • sick of hearing that you're not good enough, smart enough, thin enough, spiritual enough?
  • beaten down, believing that your profession doesn't matter in God's eyes?

All those lies and deceitful messages have a name: Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman symbolizes everything you think and have been told a woman should be. Wonder Woman is a blend of all the women both real and fictional that we idolize. She is the whispers of doubt and negative self-talk that run rampantly through our minds. It's time to stop listening...

It's time for you to kill Wonder Woman.

Join us as motivational speaker and author, Tenaya (TJ) Tison, shares with us a long over-due weapon that you as a woman of faith can use to cut down burnout, destroy discouragement, and set yourself free from unrealistic expectations. Once you've broken loose from Wonder Woman's deception, you can open yourself to more fully trust God's plan and integrate Him into all aspects of your life, including your workplace calling.

Are you ready to "Win at Work and Soar in Faith?" This is your call to arms. Join us. Click HERE to register for the luncheon.

Won't you help us feed hungry children this summer?

Love INC has partnered with District 112 / Eastern Carver County schools to provide a lunch program for children in need during the summer months. Children (age 1-18) will receive a free lunch followed by participation in educational programming.

The lunch program will be held Monday through Friday, and begins on June 20th. The program will end on September 1st. (There will be no meals served on June 19th, July 3rd, and July 4th.)

Two to four (2-4) volunteers, at least 2 of whom are adults, are needed from 12:15 pm to 2:00 pm each day. Volunteers will assist in handing out lunch, opening packages, etc., and general supervision of the children during lunch and during the educational programming, which may include a game, reading, or other educational activities.

Families, adults, and children age 10+ are welcome to volunteer! We do ask that children age 10-15 be supervised at all times by a parent volunteering along side the child. Children over age 15 may be present without a parent but must have transportation available promptly at 2:00 pm.(Children under age 10 may attend and help volunteer with the educational activities, but will not be counted in volunteer totals.)

Location: Riverview Terrace Community Center Building, 300 Ehlers Avenue, Chaska, MN

When: June 20, 2017 – September 1, 2017

Time: 12:15 PM – 2:00 PM
