ARCWorks Improving Facade with Downtown Grant
ARCWorks has begun making improvements to the face of their building, located at 205 North Broad Street in Downtown Bainbridge. The architectural firm, owned by Darrin Blankenship, is working towards designs illustrated in the above right picture to rehabilitate and upgrade the store front. ARCWorks, like several businesses located around the square, took advantage of the Facade Grant. The grant is one of many business incentives offered by the Downtown Development Authority in an effort to encourage business owners in the downtown area to restore or revamp the exterior of these properties. The program is designed to give property owners and business owner's financial assistance for façade improvement.

Over the course of six months, filled with laughter, hilarious misadventures, and the occasional liquid refreshment, these middle-aged women successfully bond and find the confidence to jump start their new lives. Together, they discover lasting friendships and a renewed determination to live in the moment-and most importantly, realize it's never too late to make new old friends.

Discover Bainbridge is a community focus group created to bring awareness to Bainbridge and Decatur County.  Initially, the project started as a joint effort between the Bainbridge-Decatur Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Development Authority to create a unified theme for our community.  Through the process it became clear that other organizations within the community were discussing similar issues, and asking questions like "How do we attract tourists?" and "How to promote quality education, health care, downtown development, recreational facilities, and industrial development etc?"

In lieu of recreating the wheel, we invited community partners to the table and pitched the idea of creating a digital brochure that could be embedded to each organization's website.  Nikki Rich, with Rich Graphics Inc., designed a spectacular brochure that provides broad information for each organization while luring readers to learn more by visiting their individual websites.  We encourage you to Discover Bainbridge!
