Festivities include something for everyone! Come for the Barn Sale and stay on for the freshly-made maple bars, live music, hot dogs, chili dogs, and dessert from the bake sale. The famous Olga Daze parade starts at noon sharp led by an Orcas Island fire truck. No spectators, all participants! There will be games and face painting for kids and the traditional raffle of a beautiful handmade quilt-a full day of fun and an opportunity to support the community's historic building.

JUBILEE WEEKEND

Jubilee Weekend at OICC! All members, attenders, and friends of Orcas Island Community Church, from both past and present, are invited to join us from July 27-29 as we celebrate a Jubilee Weekend at the church. We will give thanks to God for Dick Staub's 10+ years of pastoral ministry with us as well as giving thanks to God for 50+ years of worship within this church building. Jerry Root will join us as a guest speaker. We will have a concert celebration as well. Dr. Stephen Newby returns to lead the Community Gospel Choir.

FREE COMMUNITY ZIP LINE AND CLIMBING WALL DAY

If interested, please call Camp Orkila at 360-376-2678 to sign-up for a time slot. Please know the number of people in your party at the time of calling. Maximum weight capacity for a single rider is 250 lbs (subject to change depending on conditions) and children must be entering 3rd grade or above to participate.
Being prompt is important, so please plan to arrive at camp 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Please enter through the main entrance on Mount Baker Road and follow signs to the designated parking areas.
THE DANIEL CASTRO BAND

Daniel grew up in the L.A. area and was heavily influenced by the blues greats Albert King, B.B. King and Albert Collins.
The group's strong arrangements, including three-part harmonies, and its use of dynamics and feel, propel each song forward and leave audiences in awe of a trio that sounds so full.
Musical chemistry is obvious from the first note the band plays and it never lets up.
Orcas Islands' own Bruce Harvie with open the show with tunes featuring slide guitar and mandolin. Lounge and beer garden opens one hour before showtime.

SPOOKY TALES RETURN TO ORCAS HISTORICAL MUSEUMS
(Wednesdays, 8:00 pm @ Pioneer Museum and Fridays, 5:00 pm @ Crow Valley School Museum, through August 31)
Professional storyteller, Antoinette Botsford, has investigated the spirits of those who once resided on Orcas Island, or who in rare cases may still be here. Antoinette embellishes verifiable historical data with imagination (where needed) to result in intriguing stories that keep the audience, sometimes as young as six years old--some as old as ninety-- hanging on every word! Ticket prices are $10 adults, $8 members, and $5 (under 18). Reservations are recommended. Last year, many people were turned away. Both venues have limited seating.

The Funhouse serves the urgent needs of young people and strengthens community bonds by providing a safe and stimulating environment. The Funhouse provides mentoring programs, out of school time programs, teen programs and, in partnership with the Orcas Island School District, education and college preparation programs. If you can walk, you can dance. Orcas Dance is offering several dance classes over a three-week intensive, available for both adults and kids. Classes include Contemporary Ballet, West Coast Swing, Hip-Hip, Jazz, African Dance, and more.
Orcas Center will be opening its doors to a brand new multipurpose space filling one half of a converted prop warehouse. Complete with mirrored walls, a sprung floor, and an inspiring repertoire of dance classes to join during July Dance Intensives.

Visit Washington Federal to see this colorful, textured, impressionistic exhibit. Susan is an island Visual Artist who shares the love of nature and color. She says: "I spent much of my time, as a small child, observing color and doing color scales in my mind. Little did I know that love of the visual world and its hues would increasingly continue, and be reflected and shared with others in paint and picture.
