The African Growth and Opportunity Act,( AGOA) Civil Society Organization Network is delighted to invite you to participate in the Civil Society Organization (CSO) Session of the 11th US-Africa Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum. The CSO Session of the Forum is scheduled to take place June 12-15, 2012, at the Washington Plaza Hotel, the Woodrow Wilson Center, and the Brookings Institute in Washington, DC.
The AGOA Civil Society Network represents NGOs, small and medium enterprises, chambers of commerce and individuals across Africa and the US interested in the successful application of AGOA legislation. The AGOA Civil Society Network was established by CSOs participants representing the United States and Africa during the AGOA Civil Society Forum in Phoenix, Mauritius on January 17, 2003, and The CSO Network has been supporting the coordination of the Civil Society (CSO) Session, as a part of the AGOA Forum, since its inception. Our mission is to optimize the effectiveness of AGOA on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
The purpose of the CSO Session is to bring together CSOs from the US and Africa to discuss Civil Society's Role in Effecting Legislative Reforms that Enhance US Africa Trade and to provide recommendations to the Ministerial Session of the 11th US-Africa Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum.
