Downtown Salisbury SUCCESS STORY
Queen's Gifts Building SOLD
LoraBelle Baby on the MOVE!
Lora Belle Baby began as a tiny business along N. Main Street in downtown Salisbury. As people began to ask owner Machelle Frick for more and more specialty items, and the exciting renovation of the ca.1880 Bernhardt Hardware Building happened, Lora Belle Baby found a new home...and a much larger space!

Owner and customers have been very happy in the Bernhardt restoration, yet as Lora Belle Baby continues to thrive, Frick had her sights set on the Queen's Gifts Building at 221 S. Main Street .
Lo and behold, the 2-story brick building came up for sale...and the Lora Belle Baby move is scheduled for this October 2018! In the new space, Lora Belle Baby will be offering new items, such as baby furniture, maternity and 'mommy gifts', and more!

WHERE IS THE $1000 BILL?

In the early 1900s, a bottle of Coke cost a nickel, a Ford Model-T could fetch $290, and you could rent an apartment for as low as $4 a month.

So, it may seem like today we should have larger bills to make purchasing our much higher-priced items more efficient. The highest value of denomination currently in production in the U.S. is the $100 bill, but in decades past, the Federal Reserve has issued $1,000, $5,000, $10,000 and even $100,000 bills.

The U.S. stopped printing the $1,000 bill and larger denominations by 1946, but these bills continued circulating until the Federal Reserve decided to recall them in 1969.
