Second Annual
Aiming for Education
Golf Tournament
 benefitting the
Plano ISD Education Foundation
a Huge Success!

Congratulations to Co-Chairs Nathan Barbera and Cam McCall on a successful "Aiming for Education" Plano ISD Alumni Association Golf Tournament. This second annual event brought Plano ISD alumni together to raise funds through the Plano ISD Education Foundation for innovative programs.

The Plano ISD Education Foundation and the Plano ISD Alumni Association work in collaboration to raise much needed funds to support district programsfor which tax dollars are not available. The golf tournament gives alumni, parents and other members of the community a chance to get together and have fun while also making a tremendous impact toward the Foundation's mission to help all students in Plano public schools achieve their full potential.

AVID Leadership Retreat

For the purposes of challenging students to become leaders in AVID, at their school and in life, 75 students attended the AVID Leadership Retreat on March 26 & 27th at Collin County Adventure Camp. During the day, students participated in leadership sessions, team building activities and personal challenge-by-choice activities.  In the evening, the AVID seniors spoke and gave advice to the younger students. This is unique learning experience for these students.

Some comments from this year's retreat:

"At the retreat I leaned that I hold myself back from interaction too much.  By doing this I miss out on friendships."

"I learned that I have more potential than I thought."

"I learned that everyone is willing to help.  You just have to ask for it."

Thank you to Alliance Data for supporting this meaningful learning experience.

Ski Plano 2015 Celebrates Another Successful Fundraising Year

Plano ISD alumnus Jordan Kahn had the crowd dancing all night long.

Under the leadership of Plano Senior High School Alumnus, Jennifer Jamieson, Ski Plano 2015 was another successful fundraising gala for the Plano ISD Education Foundation. The Ski Plano Lodge once again overtook Southfork Ranch in Parker.

Plano West Class of 2005 alumni entertained the crowd. Kyle Bosworth, former Plano West football player, UCLA standout, NFL Free Agent and former Dallas Cowboy, served as honorary emcee. Fellow Plano West 2005 alumni and Berklee College of Music graduate, Jordan Kahn and his Jordan Kahn Music Company kept the crowd dancing through the night.

Plano ISD Alumnus Kyle Bosworth served as honorary emcee.

Nearly $200,000 was raised in event proceeds and will benefit the programs of the Foundation for the 55,000 students of Plano ISD. More than 700 guests wore their favorite ski sweaters and jeans, danced the night away to two live bands and browsed the slopes of astonishing auction items. Mark your calendars for the 20th Anniversary Ski Plano, on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
