From the Pastor
Augustine of Hippo once pointed out that the household of God offered prayer for Peter and Paul as leaders in the church. He went on to describe how important prayer is and how much more he needed prayer then Peter and Paul as a leader in the church. (Letter 130- to Proba)
All of us need prayer. Please keep me in your prayers as I begin my ministry at Bethlehem UMC and pray for Reverend Ward as he begins serving as your new senior pastor. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
In the same letter quoted above Augustine went on to say, "Let us owe each other nothing but mutual love."
May the Lord who is able to do above what we can ask or imagine give ears to all our prayers as we continue to love one another in Jesus name.

St. Mark's has 20 campers attending this summer; we believe camp is a vital spiritual growth point for children and youth! We hope to collect funds to enable us to sponsor three $300 scholarships for new campers who would otherwise be unable to attend Cedar Crest. We will be collecting funds for these scholarships through the June 10th Coin Offering and every day of Vacation Bible School.
Scholarship campers often arrive without basic toiletries, so we are also collecting the following "Travel Size" items for donation to Cedar Crest

St. Mark's Young People in Ministry This Summer!
All who take upon themselves the name of Christ are called into ministries of love and service in response to their baptism. The Scripture says that we shall know Christ's disciples by their fruit.
In our community of faith, our young people are going out on a limb where the fruit is! Below are listed young people who are serving in our community of faith and beyond this summer:
- Hannah Underwood - St. Mark's UMC Children's Ministries
- Caroline Van Patten - St. Mark's UMC Youth Ministries
- Beth Shirley - Cedar Crest Camp Counselor
- James Touchton - Cedar Crest Camp Counselor
- Abby McDaniel - Cedar Crest Camp Counselor-in-Training
- Amelia Clark - Ministry Intern at Epworth UMC, Franklin, TN
- Tanner Morris - Camp Lookout Counselor
- Layne Allen - Special Kids' Camp Ability
- Emily Heyduck - Choose to Invest, East Africa
As these young adults begin their work among this community of faith and beyond these walls, please pray the blessings of God and this community upon the work they do!
