From the Pastor
Lord Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury has said, "Christianity in Britain is one generation from extinction." He pointed out that many churches in England have no ministry to young people and that means they have no interest in the future. I recently met with our confirmation class and their parents and am grateful for those who recognize the importance of investing in the spiritual development of our young people...

A Resolution for 2017
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)
At St. Mark's, we believe we are a church that works to "Build you up, and not tear you down".

Our youth recently attended Warmth in Winter at its new location at Opryland hotel. As always we had a great time worshiping and singing together, learning and spending time with our Murfreesboro district and Tennessee Conference friends. We learned how God continues to Pursue us.
We were very proud as our praise team participated in the battle of the bands. Amelia Clark, Beth Shirley, James Touchton, Georgia Touchton and Helen Grace Daniel all served on the design team for the event. Madison Beckman served this year and will continue in her co-chair role next year.
See some pictures of the EVENT HERE.
Our SMALL groups are continuing. Real men cook meets this Sunday at 2:30. Our next groups to start will be Exercise and we will be looking at spiritual disciplines during Lent.
On February 19th we will have a "bring a friend" night to Fusionyouth. Our friends from Trinity will be joining us as well. Of course there will be prizes! We will also be staying late that night for a foursquare tournament. Pick up will be at 8 PM
The winners of our Super Bowl challenge were Macey Howell, Kyle Kigar, Andrew Shirley and Madison Beckman. Congratulations!
The deadline for our ski trip was Sunday but if you are interested in going contact Beth to see if space is available.
