From the Pastor

If you have been around St. Mark's very long, you've probably noticed several white trucks and trailers parked around the building next to the soccer field.  You may have even seen them lined up in a row with tractors and other equipment on trailers.  As the signs on most of the vehicles indicate,  they are used for responding to flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes and other natural disasters...

Nineteen SAGES saw "Sister Act" at Cumberland County Playhouse last Tuesday.  Lunch was at the Cumberland Mountain State Park.  It was a beautiful day.  Thanks to Rev. Martha Touchton for driving the bus.
Adventures in Learning begins next Monday, September 11, and will continue on through September 18 and  25 from 9:30-1:00 P.M. each day at First United Methodist Church, Murfreesboro. Two different sets of class are offered at two different hours...

VBS Supplies, Curriculum and Decorations Travel North and South! St. Mark's VBS resources may not have nine lives, but they will for sure have three!   Many of our resources initially travelled to Nashville to be use by Calvary UMC.   Now they have travelled south to be used by Decherd UMC in the summer of 2018.   What a blessing to be part of a generous, sharing church!

Glee Ministry In Need of Volunteers We have been blessed for the past few years to have a wonderful ministry for young special needs friends, the GLEE Room, which stands for God Loves Everyone Equally.  In order for our church to continue responding to this need and ministering to these families, a few more willing servants are needed during Sunday school and/or 11:00 worship.  If you would be willing to consider serving in this ministry, please contact Rev. Touchton to talk further.

Fall Golf Tournament!St. Mark's will be sponsoring a fall golf tournament on September 16 at Old Fort Golf Course.  The cost to play is $55.00 with a 1:00 shot gun start.  Sign up in the narthex or on the bulletin board to play! Deadline to sign up is this Sunday.
