Dr. Craig Goff
From the Pastor

The Council of Bishops of the United Methodist Church have requested that each United Methodist congregation observe Global Migration Sunday on December 3, 2017.  This is the first Sunday of the season of Advent. Our communion rail offering that day will be received to support Migration Advance No. 3022144 as a response to their request ...

We lost another one of our beloved members from the Caring List this weekend.  Bernice Iles' service was at Woodlawn on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 11:00 A.M. Mrs. Iles is the mother of Bonnie Ward. Visitation was at Woodfin's on Tuesday from 3-7 PM. Several of us served her communion.  We celebrated her birthdays with the family.  And we visited her regularly at Community Care of Murfreesboro.  She will be missed. Thanks to everyone for your care of Bernice Iles . ..

Youth News
The youth had fun with our annual scavenger hunt for food. We had fun and we also collected a ton of food! Thanks to all of our adults who helped: Ben Buchanan, Katie Henry, David Naylor, Kirsten Weaver, Tyler Neale, Natalie Beckman, Michelle McDaniel, John McDaniel, Jarred Ervin.

Every four years, youth from throughout the United Methodist Church gather for four days of discipleship, fun, and fellowship at the YOUTH event. The event is filled with interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service opportunities, and fellowship time. We can expect inspiration, support, and challenges to authentically experience what it means to be United Methodist.
Youth 2019 is scheduled for July of 2019. St. Mark's participated in Youth 2015 so we may want to continue the tradition in 2019. This Sunday during youth, we will watch the video, check out the information and decide if we want to head to Kansas City in 2019!

We are currently taking registrations for 2 upcoming trips! Our ski trip is Jan. 4, 2018. This trip to Beech Mountain will be for youth and college students. We will be traveling on a charter bus, tubing and skiing and returning late on Jun 5th. Warmth in Winter is Feb. 9-11 in Nashville. The cost of this conference retreat will be $130.00  Registration information for both trips are available in the youth center and on the youth website.

December FusionYouth Schedule: We will go Christmas Caroling on Wednesday, Dec. 6th. Sign up on the board for transportation.  We will have our regular youth meetings on Dec. 3rd and 10th, then our Christmas party on Dec. 17th. We will not be meeting on Dec. 24th or 31st.

" God's Promise Came True "

Especially for Families
with Young Children

The Children's Ministries Team offers a 4:00 p.m. Christmas Eve worship service especially for families with young children, which includes music, readings, drama and prayers led by our children and their families.  Children who are willing to share their talents through singing, playing an instrument, reading or leading a prayer are invited to volunteer to Rev. Touchton.
The Christmas story will be portrayed through a spontaneous Christmas pageant with all the children participating as animals, angels, shepherds, kings, and stars.   The service will conclude with communion and candlelight singing (using glow sticks!), and each child will receive a beautiful Christmas ornament.  Child care for infants and toddlers is provided during the service.
