Dr. Craig Goff
From the Pastor

Do you know someone who might benefit from our Stephen's Ministry program here at St. Mark's?

It has been said that Stephen Ministers are "after" people-----

...after you find the pink slip in what's now your final paycheck;

...after the doctors have said the diagnosis is not encouraging;

...after the relationship ends but the wounds are still bleeding;

...after family and friends have heard your story one too many times but you still need to talk it out...

Fourteen SAGES visited Mansker Station in Goodlettsville last week.  Lunch was enjoyed at The Chef's Market nearby.  It was a lot of fun.  The weather was gorgeous.  The guides were lovely and very helpful.  Thanks to Joe Green and Barbara New for driving. Please make plans to join us on one of our next trips ...

Youth News
We had a great time this past Saturday at Hands and Feet.  This is a conference event, held at Cedar Crest Camp, with an emphasis on mission.  During the morning, we cleared some trails and then we worked in the afternoon on the storage barn.  We hauled a ton of stuff to the burn pile or dumpster and reorganized and cleaned the area so the camp can better use the space.  We were tired and dirty by the end of the day!   Thanks to John and Michelle McDaniel for going with us!  PHOTOS HERE
This Saturday!  Is the praise team "try it" day.  If you have been interested in playing an instrument or singing with the praise team, Saturday is the day to try it out.  We will start at 9:30 and should finish by 3:00.  You can come for all that you can that day.  Lunch will be provided.
We will not have FusionYouth on Oct. 1st due to Fall Break, but will be back on regular schedule Oct. 8th (after unloading pumpkins in the afternoon!)
On October 15, we will participate in the A-mazing Youth Connection.  This is a district event, held at the Grove here in Murfreesboro.  We will gather with other youth in the Stones River District for dinner, a visit to the corn maze, games and worship together.  The cost is $10 per person and we will meet at the church at 3:00.  There will not be SONlight choir that evening.    Please sign up on the bulletin board if you are planning to go!

Pumpkin Patch News !

It's that time of year... time for football, bonfires, changing leaves... and pumpkins!

Our batch of pumpkins will be arriving at St. Mark's on Sunday, Oct. 8th at 12:30.  We want to invite everyone to bring their work gloves, buckets, wheel barrows and muscles to help us unload what we hope will be a successful new venture for us.  We hope our pumpkin patch will welcome in the community - a sea of orange and a place for pictures and fun.  All proceeds from the sale of the pumpkins will benefit the youth ministries.

Holy Moly

Igniting a Biblical Imagination
That Lasts a Lifetime
Beginning September 17th, children in Grades 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 begin a new adventure called "Holy Moly," a fun, playful and interactive approach to studying the Bible which follows the path of the biblical narrative, taking kids on a journey through the Old Testament in the Fall, Advent/Christmas/Epiphany stories in the Winter, and New Testament stories in the Spring, including Holy Week and Easter accounts.

Glee Ministry In Need of Volunteers We have been blessed for the past few years to have a wonderful ministry for young special needs friends, the GLEE Room, which stands for God Loves Everyone Equally.  In order for our church to continue responding to this need and ministering to these families, a few more willing servants are needed during Sunday school and/or 11:00 worship.  If you would be willing to consider serving in this ministry, please contact Rev. Touchton to talk further.
