Vitamin C
Vitamin C crystals (available in Trader Joe's as well as other health and wellness stores) are very inexpensive, and can be used for much more than hair and skin care.
Dissolve one teaspoon of vitamin C crystals in a one-pint spray bottle filled with water or you can also mix with a normal-sized bottle of shampoo or shower gel. Note: It's a little harder to be sure the vitamin C is fully dissolved.
For Your Body: Spray yourself all over, rub it in with your hands, then rinse off or bathe as usual.
For Your Tresses: Be sure to completely cover your hair and scalp, remember that it can't work where it hasn't been applied. Smooth your fingers over and down your tresses in a piano stroking motion until you have applied the mixture to your entire head; for dense textures apply in sections.
You will know right away how well it works by how GREAT your skin and hair smells! If you still smell chlorine, repeat the process until the smell of chlorine is gone. Once you have completed the vitamin C wash, be sure to deep condition your tresses with a moisturizing deep conditioner and heat for approximately 15 minutes or apply a moisturizing mask for a minimum of 30 minutes (no heat required), and then style your tresses as desired!
How Often Should You Use:
Heavy swimmers use 2x/week
Light swimmers use 1x/week.
Note: This is safe, natural and highly recommended for children who are swimming daily.
