It's Time to RSVP for Shavuot
Shavuot is a major Jewish festival held on the 6th (and usually the 7th) of Sivan,
50  days after the second day of Passover. It was originally a harvest festival, but now also commemorates the giving of the Torah. It is also a Yizkor day.

If you would you be interested in attending Yizkor and a brief Shavuot program beginning at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, May 31, please RSVP to Renee, info@congregationkehillah.org, by May 24. If you have already RSVP'd, please reconfirm by email to Renee so we are assured of a minyan. Thank you!

Friday, May 19, 7:30 p.m.
at our new home, 5858 E. Dynamite Blvd., Cave Creek, AZ 85331
(This is 1.6 miles west of Scottsdale Rd.)

Services will include birthday and anniversary blessings for those who are celebrating in May. The oneg will be sponsored by Renee Joffe in honor of her mother, Marsha Joffe.

Even though we haven't done our internal renovations yet and the parking lot is unfinished, there's no place like home!
Parking information: Look for orange cones at the end of the driveway to guide you where to turn; members of our Brotherhood will be on hand to assist you. As we are now situated in the middle of a neighborhood, please help us show respect to our neighbors by keeping our outdoor noise level to a minimum.
We encourage you to carpool. We will have orange cones in spots reserved for handicap parking.

OUR ISRAEL TRAVELERS HAVE RETURNED!
Welcome home, travelers on Kehillah's 4th Fabulous Trip to Israel!

We'll have pictures to share with you soon. Meanwhile, here's a reflection written by Renee Joffe a few hours before leaving Israel...

"How does one put into words the experience of the past two weeks?
My trip started fast and furiously with visits with family and friends and walking
on the beaches of Tel Aviv... The bus was our home away from home
and friendships were formed and bonded. Arie was our guide who was a walking man of knowledge. My eyes saw new sights, my tongue tasted new foods, my nose smelled delicious bakery, my ears heard the voices of hundreds of women singing together on Shabbat at the Kotel, my feet stood on ancient grounds
and walked miles. The list could go on and on.
Rabbi Bonnie was and is an extraordinary leader, clergy and most of all friend...there is no other Rabbi I would have wanted to share this experience with.
I met new friends in fellow travelers and took existing relationships top a new level. As I fly back to AZ in a few hours, I leave behind a piece of my heart,
but that space is now filled in with sweet memories of Israel.
"
KEHILLAH CARE KITS
Kehillah members and YEP! families assembled Kehillah Care Kits at Purim that are now available for you on Friday nights prior to Kabbalat Shabbat and during YEP! sessions. We encourage you to take Kits to keep in your car and hand out as you see fit to those in need. Each Kit contains a pair of socks (one of the most requested items), a mini-bottle of water, and a Nutri-Grain bar.

This is an ongoing Social Action/Mitzvah project. We are requesting a donation of $2/bag (on the honor system). To make a donation and support this important project, please visit our donation page. Then, under "FUND," choose "Social Action." In the message section, type in "Kehillah Care Kits."

For questions or to help with this project in the future, please email Renee, info@congregationkehillah.org.

HIPPA PRIVACY RULE: Hospitals won't notify us about your stay, nor will Jewish chaplains visit or share your information with us unless you specifically give permission and request that they do so. Rabbi Sharfman and Congregation Kehillah want to support Kehillah members - so many emotions and issues arise during illnesses requiring hospitalization. Please call the office and give us your name, hospital name/room number and any health details you can share to enable us to be responsive to you and your needs.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR DONATIONS
A note from Renee:
We are all very excited to be moving into our new home. There are many items we will need to make our house into a home and we appreciate all who have already stepped forward and offered to donate various items. For now, we ask that you please hold off purchasing items for us until we figure out what our needs are. If you wish to help now, a monetary donation is always welcomed. Currently we are developing a wish list and will have a gift registry requesting specific, new items. Since we are still under renovation, we have nowhere to safely store items. Thank you for your support and understanding.
