Special Adult Ed Opportunity, taught by Rabbi Sharfman
Welcome to Judaism: A Course for Beginners & Those Who Love Them
This class begins October 16
Rabbi Sharfman will be teaching this introductory course through the BJE (Bureau of Jewish Education).
The course will provide a foundation in the basic tenets of Judaism: History, holidays and observances, life observances, life cycle events, theology, prayer, and communal life will be explored through Jewish texts, beliefs, and customs.
T
his course is open to non-Jews, non-Jews with their Jewish partners, and Jewish adults interested in further exploring Judaism.
Classes will be held on Mondays, October 16 through December 11, from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus, 12701 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85254. Cost: $36

GIRLS' NIGHT OUT Tuesday, October 3, 6:00 p.m.

We'll meet & eat on the patio
and we'll make decorations for the sukkah. We also look forward to seeing you on Saturday, October 7 at 6:15 p.m. at Kehillah for Pizza in OUR Hut!
Bonus mitzvah alert! At this meeting we will also collect gently used bras that will be donated to women at MOMA, a domestic violence shelter in Mesa. This project is being coordinated by Helen's Hope Chest, which helps children and teens in foster care. Helen's Hope Chest also employs people with epilepsy, who will sort and package the bras. Please be part of this triple mitzvah: recycling used bras, employing people with disabilities, and helping homeless and abused women.

Hospitals won't notify us about your stay, nor will Jewish chaplains visit or share your information with us unless you specifically give permission and request that they do so. Rabbi Sharfman and Congregation Kehillah want to support Kehillah members - so many emotions and issues arise during illnesses requiring hospitalization. Please call the office and give us your name, hospital name/room number and any health details you can share to enable us to be responsive to you and your needs.

We Remember: A Home For The Holocaust Art of Robert Sutz
The Arizona Jewish Historical Society has launched a capital campaign to establish a permanent gallery for the artwork of Robert Sutz, whose award-winning work includes life masks, portraits, and recorded testimonies of Holocaust survivors, liberators, and righteous gentiles.
