Latet is one of the fastest growing NGO's in Israel. We are their first partner in the US with our "Support a Holocaust Survivor" drive which is part of their AID for LIFE program. But Latet does so much more- organizes food rescue, fights food instability for all ages, increases nutritional security, helps move people from financial hardship to independence with micro-loans and training. A portion of evening's proceeds will go to support Latet.

Shiva Minyan Leader Training
Most Shiva Minyans at TBT are led by our clergy. At times, there are
schedule conflicts and/or multiple shivas happening simultaneously and
our clergy cannot be present for a particular shiva minyan. Therefore,
we have a handful of congregants that perform this wonderful mitzvah
when needed. We are looking for any other congregants who may be
interested in learning how to lead a shiva minyan. A training session
will be taking place on Sunday, 10/29 @ 10:30am at the home of Brian
Goldstein, 19 Old Bridge Ct, Melville.
This training is also intended to serve as a refresher for those already
trained as we have recently transitioned to a new prayer book.

Budding Friendships
Pairing teen helpers with kids with special needs.
Do you know a child with special needs who would benefit from a teen mentor…someone to come over once a week to interact with your child?
Are you a teen who would like to help?
We match teens and kids with special needs to meet weekly and develop a strong one-on-one bond. We will train our teens to participate as volunteers. Teen Volunteers are needed to make these afternoons awesome
for kids and teens with special needs.
