Successful Meet & Greet with National Park Service

The Town of North Smithfield recently held a Meet and Greet with National Park Service Superintendent Meghan Kish and Jennifer Smith Management Assistant to discuss the Nation's newest National Historical Park: Blackstone Valley National Historic Park.

The superintendent spoke to a full house on the benefits of preserving historic areas in the village of Slatersville, and how we can continue to tell the story of the industrial revolution, with its roots in Slatersville. She explained the next steps including defining boundaries within Slatersville, getting funding sources, and establishing a potential visitor center.

Some folks ask me "Are we on our way back to Normal?" No, we took that exit a long time ago! Just a little humor to lighten the mood!

We are in a state of Town development and reaching another level of economic growth. We have much to be grateful for. Our Town is safe, our schools are great, we have a surplus, and we still have a lot of work to do together. Spring is around the corner. Stay positive!
You CAN change your world.

Sincerely,

Paulette D. Hamilton
