All ages can help on this special service day
You -- yes, you! -- can make a global impact from right here at CCE. Join us on November 19 for a special hands-on service project that makes a huge difference in the lives of others. Through Rise Against Hunger’s meal packaging program we will assemble 40,000 packages of highly nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables, and 23 essential vitamins and minerals to be shared with impoverished countries across the world. Children can pack meals with their parents and also participate in special activities in the Garage Cafe. To register for Rise Against Hunger, log in to Realm , click "Events" and find "Nov. 19."
Join us to elect new leadership at our Annual Meeting on December 3
Please make plans to attend our new Annual Meeting on December 3 at 10:00 AM, where, as a congregation, we will elect new members to the vestry to serve 2018-2021. This is a date change and a paradigm shift. In the past, we waited to elect new leadership until the financial results from the year were completed. However, this means losing at least a month of leadership time. As a result, our vestry adopted Rev. Shirley’s suggestion of having the annual meeting to elect new vestry members on the first Sunday of December each year, and then provide an information meeting for the congregation on year-end financial results and the new year’s budget on February 4.

Interested in being a Pastoral Caregiver?
Information Sessions on November 19 and December 10
Our Pastoral Care Ministry is looking for Christ Church members who are interested in becoming Pastoral Caregivers. What is Pastoral Care? What does a Pastoral Caregiver do? How does he/she learn how to deliver Pastoral Care? While that’s something I’m interested in, am I equipped to be a Pastoral Caregiver? The answer to all of these questions is: come and find out! The church is hosting two informational sessions on November 19 and December 10 at 12:15 in the Parlor.

In the meantime, if you’d like to start exploring what this is all about, feel free to contact Wendy Dickinson , Steve Rogers , or Rev. Robin Teasley . We hope you’re interested in exploring this opportunity to BE THE CHURCH!
Pray for our Missioners as they travel to South Sudan
As the hearts and hands of Jesus, CCE supports the Hope and Resurrection Secondary School in Atiaba, South Sudan with prayer, volunteer labor, and financial gifts. Congregation member Lee Muckey and Executive Director Suzanne Hicks leave Monday for a mission trip, during which they will share stories, plan operations, and encourage students and teachers alike, especially the 7 th graduating class. Please plan to join us on on next First Sunday program, December 3, at 5:00 PM as they share how CCE is improving prospects for future leaders in one of the world’s most vulnerable countries.

O Come, Let us Adore!
The Season of Advent Begins December 2
Advent Quiet Day
Advent is a time to reflect on the Incarnation of Christ and prepare our hearts to receive God’s most precious gift – the love God has for us as revealed through Jesus. In all the busyness of December, we invite you to set aside some time to be still and listen for God’s voice on Saturday, December 2 . Led by Sara Vale, Spiritual Director and LPC, this will be a wonderful opportunity to have a few hours of peaceful reflection on the coming of our Savior during a time of the year when the world does not offer many opportunities for quiet contemplation. For more information and to register, log in to Realm , click Events, and find "Dec. 2"; or contact Rev. Robin Teasley.
