The Loft is where Art Happens in Culpeper!
Art Studio, Gallery (over 30 local and regional artists), Drawing Classes (Tuesday evenings with life model), Weekend Workshops (for adults and kids), Special Exhibits (artists and art groups), Day Trippin'! So much fun hosting the artist group, Muse! Opening night was fantastic with over 100 people attending, great food (thanks to the Muse ladies!) washed down with delightful Proseco (my new drink obsession this summer) from Vinosity, and fabulous music by jewelry/craftsman extraordinare, Jordan Bryson! Paintings, Prints and Cards sold! Well done, Muse ladies!
Yoga has gotten off to a slow, but very relaxed, start at the Loft. Rory Lyschek, my friend and cohort in all things jewelry, leads a stress-free easy yoga practice and best of all...it's donation only! That's right, donations go to the Culpeper Humane Society! Now you can indulge in relaxation and fitness and contribute to animal rescue at the same time. Now that is a good hour spent. See below for more details.
We have a great September of workshops; Glass on Glass with Candace Clough. If you love working with your hands and glorious colors, but do not have a drawing background, this is the workshop for you! Also, Carrie Heitsch is going to teach us how she does those marvelous woven photographic images that she does at the Loft! Before you purchase a loom, take this workshop to learn the basic rudiments of weaving! So many options, endless configurations! All levels welcomed to both these workshops. Relaxed, fun and you leave with finished work you created!
September also brings the return of Tuesday nights at the Loft at 7pm of the Life Model Drawing Classes/Sessions! Resuming September 13! See below for details.
At long last, the much awaited October Acrylic Painting Workshop with Lou Messa! Two Saturdays of demos and painting with guidance from Lou! This is a very popular workshop, I already have 3 people signed up and haven't advertised it yet. Space is limited. Hurry and Register now! Don't be disappointed. This will be a great start for beginners to build on, Lou will be back to follow up early 2017!
What else is happening in October at the Loft? ONLY THE MOST EDGY, PROVOCATIVE, SCINTILLATING AND CREATIVE COLLABORATIVE EXHIBIT TO HIT CULPEPER EVER (besides Futura Downs High)! I am beyond excited! All hail Mark Saylor for bringing us his vision! Many thanks to models Samantha Whitesides and Nol Putnam for taking us on this passage from the Borderlands to our genuine selves, stripped of our acquired artifice! More info coming up soon! After October, it's the holidays! Yup, that time of year again. I'll be buckling down to get ready for the family and friends gathering, gift giving, and putting on the Loft's holiday face!

Individual instruction provided, no extra charge, or for established artists that just the practice to keep hand and eye coordination fresh.
$20/session, or $15/each session, when you purchase 4 sessions at $60.
