The Loft is a working artists' studio expanded to include a gallery and shoppe exhibiting more than 30 artists and artisans.  O ffering drawing classes, workshops, museum and gallery day trips & a monthly art salon.  Lots of unique, one-of-a-kind gift items and home decor to choose from as well as vintage and antique furniture and objects.

The Loft is where Art Happens in Culpeper!

Art Studio, Gallery (over 30 local and regional artists), Drawing Classes (Tuesday evenings with life model), Weekend Workshops (for adults and kids), Special Exhibits (artists and art groups), Day Trippin'! (chauffered day trips to selected artistic and creative venues), and ArtSpeak! (a monthly social gathering of creative folks, free and open to the public)!
Art and Animals, those are my two passions, or rather, they are just what I'm about.  You know me as owner of the Loft,  the Loft's non-profit wing, arts a'loft, and a wanna be Artist.  But I'm recently on the Board of the Humane Society of Culpeper, following my resignation of the Louisa Humane Society after achieving the goal of a no kill shelter.  My focus now is achieving a no-kill community in Culpeper.  We need money, volunteers and most of all, foster homes.  To address our first need we are holding the MOAF (the Mother of All Fundraisers); Shoes 4 Paws, collecting gently worn or new shoes that we are paid per pound for by a company sending them to developing nations.  It's a win-win; supporting animal rescue and people of third world nations as well as cleaning out your closet!  Please help by dropping off bags of gently worn or new shoes at the Loft any Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  The fundraiser ends July 31.

Culpeper Walls! Update!

It was very difficult to choose just one from the twelve amazing submissions we received!  The Design Committee's selected submission for this RFP was based not only on artistry, but also the image that resonated with this particular wall and its location. Since the submissions were so strong, we are holding several on file to be considered for the 2nd wall this year and future walls.  Our goal is to install 2 each year!   The awarded artist and image will be announced next week via a press release.  Thank you so much to all the artists who submitted artwork for consideration.  We were blown away by the talent in our area!  Culpeper Walls! is alive and very much still in play!  Stay tuned! More opportunities to come!
