Pets In Need Ranks in City Beat "Best of Cincinnati"

CIty Beat Best of logo
According to the staff of City Beat:

"Pets In Need is the best vet helping Cincinnati pets and their people. For pet owners, animals play a huge role in life - they're like family members. It's no different for people living in poverty. Pets in Need is a nonprofit that recognizes this and makes affordable veterinary care available to area low-income families. The organization helps hundreds of pet owners take care of their fur babies with inexpensive exams, vaccines, testing, heartworm and flea prevention - even a monthly pet food supply. All enrolled pets must be spayed or neutered, and Pets in Need provides vouchers for those procedures at local clinics. Because everyone should know the love of a pet, regardless of their income."

Client Spotlight

This elderly man, a new PIN client, drove up from rural Kentucky hoping we could help his beloved little dog Bonni. She had an advanced mammary tumor and needed an x-ray
before PIN could recommend options. The client mentioned that he would have to wait for two weeks - until his Social Security check arrived - before he could take Bonni for x-rays. Volunteer Lexie Stevenson took him over to Lewis Animal Hospital for Bonni's x-ray and used her garage sale money to cover the cost.

The client confessed to Lexie, "I've raised eight kids and I never felt this nervous before!"

Unfortunately, before PIN was able to help her, Bonni passed away at home. The following week, the client delivered this wonderful lighthouse that he had made when he brought his other little dog in for an exam.
