Hello Everyone,

 

I think the cold is finally behind us and the weather is looking beautiful! I hope everyone is enjoying their spring so far.

 

Make plans to come to our May membership meeting at 21 West End and meet all of the scholarship recipients who will be joining us.

 

On May 11th we will hold the Mason Barr Golf Tournament. All of the teams are sold out, but even if you aren't playing golf, come and visit with everyone and enjoy the day. SPOILER ALERT: either Rocky's or Chuck's team will win because I think they fill their scorecard out prior to the tournament (like they do every year!) LOL

 

The 2018 Showcase Home is really coming along nicely. We are under roof; all the mechanical is in; and we are about to sheetrock. If you have any proposals for finish work, now is the time to get those turned in.

 

I had something happen this past month that reminded me of why we do what we do. We built a custom home for a Vietnamese family who were very pleasant to work with throughout the entire building process. The week we finished their home, they both were hugging me and were so happy. They even made my family five dozen delicious eggrolls! At that moment it dawned on me that we had just built their dream home. I think at times we all - myself included -- take for granted that we have a part in providing homes for the public. Not only is it their largest investment as a family, but it is a house which they get to make into their home! So remember, whether you are a secretary doing office work or a salesperson providing materials or the general contractor or anything in between, you have a right to smile because of what you helped to accomplish.

 

Thank you to everyone involved in our Association. For those of you not yet involved, it's time! I'll see you at 21 West End, and bring someone with you.
