The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of the novel visual developmental assessment to gold standard comprehensive eye exam in children under three years of age. 
 
Accuracy of the SPOT Pediatric Vision Screener Compared to Comprehensive Eye Exam in Children Aged 0 to 36 Months    Blair Germain, BA; Gayathri Srinivasan, MS, OD; Bruce Moore, OD, FAAO; Stacy Lyons, OD, FAAO; Hilary Gaiser, MS, OD; Li Deng, PhD; Kathy Majzoub, RN,  MBA
This pilot study investigated the efficacy of the SPOT by Welch Allyn as a screening device for refractive error and strabismus in children under three years of age which are significant risk factors for amblyopia in children aged 0-36 months.

Children's Vision MA Coalition member Stacy Ayn Lyons, OD, FAAO, Chair of the Specialty and Advanced Care Department at New England College of Optometry and Director of the Framingham Public Schools Vision Center, has been honored with the Excellence in Education Award by Women In Optometry.
Dr. Lyons has been an investigator or consultant for numerous research grants and a frequent author and presenter on the subject of children's vision. See more at:
