Summer is here! We are going on our Summer schedule starting the first week in June.
Summer Schedule                                   June 2015
Due to popular demand, we will be continuing therapeutic riding during the summer. Yes, it will be hot, but our riders are dedicated and hard-working, so please think about putting an hour or so on your schedule to come out and help. Therapeutic sessions will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am - 11am. If you would like to volunteer, please call Marcia at (863) 452-0006. We are scheduling both riders and volunteers.
Attention All Feeders!

We have some faithful feeders who will be on vacation (imagine that) in June so we are very much in need of feeders on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in June.

We also need feeders for evenings the week of June 22 (Mon) thru June 26 (Fri) and also for the morning of June 27 (Sat).

If you could please pitch in to help out in any of these timeslots, it will be greatly appreciated. Please call Marcia or come by the barn to sign up on the board.

Meet Marcia Wells

If you haven't already met our new Program Administrator, please come by and get to know Marcia.

Marcia is a retired nurse is familiar with HHH because of a family member who rides with us. She is the new "go to" person, and will typically be in the office 8am-1pm Tuesday thru Friday. She will also be the central contact point for booking parties, getting forms, etc.

Welcome Marcia!

Bits and Pieces
  • Chance is now living with Max; they are both enjoying pasture life and we hope to have some pictures soon to share.
  • We now have a GAS blower; although there is a technique to getting it started, it is much stronger than the plug-in! If you need to use it, just ask someone to show you the method to getting it started.
  • We also have a new water cooler (just in time)!!!
  • In case you didn't already notice, our storage trailer was pressure-washed on the United Way Day of Caring by the HCBCCE (Highlands County Board of Commissioners) and all the stalls were leveled - thank you again!!
  • We are enjoying the new screen door to the office; thank you Terry G. for installing it.
Thank you for supporting Heartland Horses; this is the first of what will be a monthly newsletter which we hope you will enjoy. If you haven't been out to the barn lately, please come and meet some of the new horses and see what is going on. We appreciate our volunteers and can't do this without you; you make it possible for us to continue our mission of providing therapeutic riding for children and adults free of charge.

And, if you have any suggestions or comments for this newsletter, please email us at or give us a call - we'd love to hear from you!

See you at the barn soon.
