Cards for Jacob
Celebrations
  • Thank you to parents who took part in Novembers Coffee and Conversation with Administration  Much discussion and many ideas were generated, and it was great to connect with members of our school community.

  • WMS is working to form a Parent Teacher Organization this year! Thank you to all who attended the initial meeting. We look forward to the start of this group!

  • Advisory groups have been busy! A HUGE stack of heartfelt cards of thanks were dropped off at the Veteran's Hospital on Veterans Day. The students did an amazing job writing sincere letters to these American heroes. Students also made creative holiday cards for Jacob Thompson, a young boy suffering from terminal cancer who does not have long to live. Staff Recognition
Is there a staff member who you feel is ALL IN and you want them to know it? What about that staff member who is going above and beyond what you expected to make the learning experience positive for your child? Or maybe you have been wondering, how do I let my child's teacher know that I appreciate them?

Well, here is your chance! Please take a moment to click the link and fill out
Whitnall Middle School's Positive Staff Referral

We will take care of the rest!
Robotics Club
This week we received a donation from the Milwaukee Area Cargill Cares. Cargill and I have been in communication and they have donated to past projects. They heard about our team's needs and decided that they wanted to be the sole sponsor for both teams. WMS Robotics teams compete in the First Lego League (FLL), using Lego robotics. Each year FLL puts out a research challenge and the teams must devise an innovative solution to the challenge. Then they must design and program a robot to complete missions on a playing field.

Cargill decided to pay for this years registration and tournament entry fee. Then they went above and beyond and provided for additional robots and supplies for the teams. They donated in total $2910!!!
Infinite Campus
While Infinite Campus is a common tool that the entire district is using, each level, elementary, middle and high are set up differently to meet the level's needs. Our middle school grade books are set up to perform 'no calculations' therefore Infinite Campus is not reporting an 'In-Progress' grade. In other words, when you look at the grades overview in the portal, there is no 'In-Progress' grade reporting for middle school courses. In order to see your child's grades, you will need to open each course and view the grade book and assignment scores. An overall score will not be reported until the end of the semester.

If you have questions about specific grading details please contact teachers directly. If you have a general question please contact the principal Laura Jennaro ljennaro@whitnall.com or 525-8652.
