Latest News!

NNNTRC would like to thank everyone who sponsored, attended or participated in our annual horse show. The riders all did a wonderful job, and as always, we could not do it without the help of our awesome volunteers!

Volunteer Corner:
Junior Interns

Periodically, a young constituent (ages 10 to 14) at NNNTRC distinguishes themselves as a future professional in an equine field. Nickers 'N Neighs encourages these individuals to develop professional skills by accepting them as a Volunteer Junior Intern, working with and learning from the professionals at our facility.  Our current Junior Interns (pictured above) are  Alayna Gildroy,  Isabell McClain and Bella Cafaro. You might see these young ladies around the barn, either helping in a lesson, maintaining the facility or caring for the horses. We are glad to have the assistance of these future horsewomen!

Barn Yard:
Barn Staff

What does it take to be facility/barn staff at NNNTRC? Most people would think that we just play with horses all day, and admittedly, to some extent, we do. Taking care of the horses and facility is a very physical, tiring and sometimes frustrating job. Being a small staff, everyone has to pitch in and keep open communication to make sure all horses are being properly cared for and barn chores are getting done on time and correctly. Brenda, Elizabeth "Liz" and Amanda (pictured above left to right) do a wonderful job keeping everyone updated with status of horse care, feeding and turning out horses, cleaning and bedding stalls, maintaining the facilities and keeping the barn aisle clean and safe for all participants.

Brenda and Liz have family farm experience working with cows, horses, pigs and other livestock everyday, which brings to our team an understanding of herd care and dynamics. Amanda has horses of her own, and is taking her education to the next level by becoming an PATH Certified Registered Instructor. Our unique skill sets make us the best team we can be to serve our students and horses!
