Here is the latest retiree news from the Public Employees' Retirement System of Mississippi (PERS)!  

Retiree Representative Runoff Election

PERS is holding a runoff election for one of the two retiree representatives on its Board of Trustees. The person elected will serve in the position that will be left vacant when Dr. Richard C. Miller completes his current term April 30 after serving 22 years as a trustee. The runoff candidates are George Dale, former Mississippi commissioner of insurance, and Dr. Philip Pepper, former Mississippi state economist.

Runoff ballots are being mailed beginning today, March 6, to eligible voters, and deadline to cast ballots is 5 p.m. Thursday, April 6. The Board will certify the election results at its April 25 meeting. The retiree representative term will run from May 1, 2017, to April 30, 2023.
