Recycle Batteries
For a limited time, the McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) is collecting non-rechargeable household batteries for recycling. Sizes collected are AA, AAA, C, D and 9-volt. Bring your depleted batteries to MCDH Building A, 2200 N. Seminary Ave. in Woodstock from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through January 31. View more information!
Fire Extinguisher Recall
The Fire Department would like you to check your home fire extinguishers. Kidde brand fire extinguishers with plastic handles have been recalled. They can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate. The nozzle can also detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard. One death has been reported. Deadline for Registration this Friday
Nippersink School District 2 will be holding a kindergarten screening for children entering kindergarten in the fall of 2018 in February. Please call 815-678-6866 to make an appointment for your child. The deadline for making an appointment is this Friday, December 22. View the flyer .
Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over through Jan 2
Spring Grove Police Officers will work around the clock to keep drivers and passengers safe as they search for alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers and making sure everyone is buckled up from now through Jan. 2 during the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement. It is the law to wear your seat belt, no matter where you are seated in the vehicle. The holidays are a special time, full of excitement and endless festivities and the Police Department would like to remind you to be safe and have a joyous holiday season .
