We are so proud of our Bet Torah
teens today and every day!
March with USY on
Shabbat morning, March 24!
Registration deadline for the March and Shabbat experience in Washington, DC has been extended to Monday, March 19.
The senseless shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida has impacted our USY community profoundly.

We want to seize this singular social action-tikun olam moment of our generation. That is why we must act and demand change to assure our safety. We must declare with one voice that it is not acceptable to be worried about being shot at school. We must ensure an end to this epidemic of mass school shootings. And we must make this crystal clear to our government leaders.
Washington, DC
Join USYers in 9th-12th grade on March 24 in Washington D.C. to take to the streets and demand an end to the epidemic of mass school shootings at the  March for Our Lives .
March 24 is also Shabbat. We are committed to both an authentic Jewish practice and making our powerful voices heard at this critical time in history. We will gather the night before at locations throughout the DC/Maryland area for a meaningful Kabbalat Shabbat experiences, including prayer communities, Shabbat dinner, and text study relevant to gun safety. (This Shabbat experience and March are only for high school students. Sorry, no 8th graders .)

The following day we will travel to the rally together (either on foot or via pre-paid metro card), reuniting afterwards to process what we experienced, before davening Maariv and Havdallah.   Click here for FAQ   and more information on the D.C. march.
There is a $36 required donation to participate in this event that goes to the USY Tikun Olam fund and will be allocated by teen leaders to organizations that advocate for gun safety.

USCJ is proud to work with its partners in the movement and in Washington D.C. to subsidize costs for housing, food, and transportation to/from the rally. Additionally, for those spending more than $200 to travel to D.C., USCJ will subsidize $100 of travel costs.  Please read our FAQ  for more information on how to redeem this subsidy.
New York, NY
USYers in 8th-12th grade are also gathering together to march under the USY banner at the March for Our Lives in NYC.

We will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the southwest corner of W. 75th St. and Central Park West on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Families and friends, as well as USY-aged teens are welcome to march!

Please note, USY is solely providing a meeting time to gather before the march. All who attend will march behind the USY banner. In marching behind our banner as a unified community, we will be representing USY. Please be sure to dress and act accordingly, representing the strength and unity of our USY community.

For more information about marching in NYC, contact Daniel Koas, Regional Teen Engagement Director at dkoas@uscj.org or (212) 533-7800 Ex: 171.
USY is proud to support our teens so that they can feel safe in their schools and any other space that fosters their creativity and development. This event is not to create divisiveness within the METNY community; it is about teens raising their voices and telling the world that they want and deserve to feel safe in their schools.

USY is proud to create a space where teens from across all political backgrounds can come together to feel this sense of community and safety, and we hope to help encourage this through marching together as one unified community.
