Youth Ministry News - May 2017
Then they said to each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the scriptures to us?"

Like the rest of the Church throughout the world, I got to hear this verse this past Sunday while on retreat with our high school peer leaders. As we continue to journey throughout the Easter season, we are seeking to be those disciples that encountered the Risen Lord on the road to Emmaus. Whether it is in one of the events listed below, or in the daily happenings of our lives, I encourage everyone to look for the ways that Jesus is seeking to break into our lives and set our hearts on fire.

Below you'll find all of the things that are in store for our middle school and high school students in the month of May, and I hope that you will be able to join us for some of these offerings. May God richly bless you!

In Christ,
Bradley Barnes, Coordinator of Youth Ministry

Camp GAudeo 2017
Less than a month remains to register!

Registration for Camp GAudeo will close on May 26th at 11:59 p.m. Please make sure that you have registered your current 5th-8th grade student before that time. We've got more spaces left, so don't forget to spread the word to family and friends, Catholic and non-Catholic!

Friday Night Activities!

This Friday, May 5th, there are several activities happening in our little slice of the world. Since there are so many things going on, and many of our 8th grade students are on a trip to D.C., I have decided to promote the multiple events that are happening at the parish and across the street. Please consider checking them out!
  • Christian will host a  Youth Bonfire for all grades in our upper parking lot (7-9 pm)
  • Angel Follies performance, benefitting the parish (8 pm curtain, $15)
  • Breakout event at McNicholas High School for grades 6-7 (starting at 6 pm)
Our Lady of Fatima

Saturday, May 13th marks the 100th Anniversary of the Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. Guardian Angels will be celebrating this in a big way with events throughout the day. Be sure to join us for an after-Mass meal at 6pm (with a food truck)!

Youth Ministry Notes
  • Thursday Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will have a slightly modified schedule this month. Each Thursday will still have the Family Rosary at 3:00 pm, but some weeks there will be protracted times of Exposition due to graduations and such. Please check with the parish office if you would like to come and adore Our Lord.
