Youth Ministry News for November 2017
"Do not be called 'Master'; you have but one master, the Christ. The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted."

We have just celebrated a time of remembering those that have gone before us. In earlier days, the beginning of November was called "All Hallowtide," consisting of the feasts of All Saints and All Souls. On All Saints Day, we look to those who followed Christ's example and have been welcomed into eternal life. All Souls Day gives us a time to pray for those who are undergoing a time of preparation to enter into heavenly glory. I think a good line of distinction between these two groups is how well they exemplified the verse above (taken from the upcoming Sunday Gospel). Those who humbled themselves in this life, as Jesus supremely humbled Himself, are exalted in the next. Those Holy Souls in Purgatory are likewise being humbled and purified so that they can enjoy God's Presence for all eternity. May we pray to be more humble in this life, so as to experience communion with our exalted Lord, Jesus Christ, in the next!

Below you'll find a listing of the things that are in store for our middle school and high school students this month of November. I hope that you will be able to join us for some of these offerings. May God richly bless you!

In Christ,
Bradley Barnes, Coordinator of Youth Ministry
