ZTGH Community News
Eric's email signature is looking crowded these days. I wasn't sure if there was enough room for another recognition - but this one is a pretty big deal.....

Every year, lawyers are selected by their peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in Canada list and one lawyer per practice area is chosen as Lawyer of the Year. Based on an overwhelming response from his peers, Eric was chosen as Lawyer of the Year in personal injury litigation. This is a great honour, and Eric is, as we all know, hugely deserving of it.

Take a moment to share the news on LinkedIn, or give Eric a high five if you happen to see him in the office at 11.30pm. Congratulations, Eric! We are so proud.
ZTGH Big Wins
We had some big legal wins at the firm recently, as a result of some incredible team work. If I am forgetting anyone, please let me know for inclusion in next month's news.
In Ari`s threshold motion for  Shipley v. Kirk:  $7,500 in general damages are wiped out by the statutory deductible. Trimble J. rules that Plaintiff does not meet threshold.
In Sharma v. Stewart , Justice LeMay ordered $139,409.21 in costs against the Plaintiffs. This stands as one of the highest awards in Ontario to a Defendant who did not obtain a complete shutout.
Welcome Articling Students!
Our great new articling students had the misfortune of starting during the virus-gate 2017, but we are so happy they are here. Read more about Natasha, Nora, Nicole, and Greg on our website.

New Associates!
Alex was unfortunately busy practicing his softball skills, so I took Maia and Robert's welcome back picture by the new fancy coffee machine. The coffee machine IS fancy, but it doesn't have a law degree and isn't a new associate at the firm. Welcome back Maia, Robert, and Alex!

Announcing our very first ZTGH Olympics Winner
Josephine Manriza!!!
Josephine battled some tough cookie face/cup stacking/partner bride making competition to clench the title of sole ZTGH Olympics Winner. Josephine's trophy is proudly displayed on her desk. She tells me that she is keeping it clean and scuff-free for next year's winner.....
Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine on the Porch and thank you to Nathalie for organizing the best parties.
