February in Review
February was another great month despite the buildup of ice around town that made our arrival and departure at ZP each day; a bit challenging…..however, as long as we had on our yak tracks, we were in good shape! We certainly had a busy month, filled with many wonderful performances all over the upper valley! We went to see “Jabber” at the HOP in Hanover, we saw two great films at Billings Farm “Tanna” and “Place” and we had the pleasure of seeing another great performance at Northern Stage, “Only Yesterday". Other field trips included, two trips to Maple Lanes bowling in Claremont, swimming at UVAC, bread making at King Arthur Flour, skiing every Tuesday at Suicide 6 with our wonderful friends at Vermont Adaptive, Pottery with Fiona at Artistree every Monday and a fabulous trip to The Frates Family Farm for “Winterfest” a day of snow shoeing, snowmobiling and a delicious cook out with hamburgers , hotdogs by chef Dail and Helen’s yummy cupcakes for dessert.
At ZP We had many more wonderful programs including, fitness with Bari, dancing with Jen, singing with Kerry, music and movement with Mark and Kathleen, crafts with Kitty, games with Carl, art with Caitlin, art with Bonnie and Lolly, art with Martha and Annie, storytelling with Jools, yoga with the “fabulous five” yoga instructors (Amanda, Jamie, Lalita, Jess and Tita), nutrition with Vince, snow shoe practice every Monday, (Go Special Olympics!) and last but not least….we had our three volunteer readers, Diane Dugan, Phil Swanson and Bettyanne McGuire. A special thank you to Diane Dugan for her generous gift certificate to the Yankee Book store where several of us went on a late afternoon shopping spree! We have also started reading the book “The Wizard of Oz” which happens to be the play we are presenting in May, directed by, the one and only, famous Hollywood producer, James Sadwith!!! As you can see we have been going nonstop all month and as we begin to wind down to these last few days of February, with some warmer weather, we are starting to get excited for spring!
