Linda Leighton adds her nature-inspired aesthetics to our artTILE show this year with her earthy palette honoring the essence of flora & fauna. When starting her own ceramic work space, Linda created a clay community called Hig her Fire Clay Studio. Linda may have just wanted a spot to make tile, but she ended up putting together a place that is a working studio, a classroom, and an  intimate sales gallery f eaturing her work, and creations from other studio artists including a few from this year's exhibit.
Kate & Ed Coleman

Ed & Kate Coleman make  vibrant, intriguing ceramics  rich in whimsical hues and textures with every piece has a lively personality of its own.  Each of these dynamic pieces radiates the energy and enthusiasm of its creators, the eclectic mix of color and texture encouraging visual and tactile interaction.  The strong aesthetics of their porcelain tiles allow each to stand on it's own, but group together beautifully to make a larger statement.

"Our work is a collaboration between two artists, separate people with ideas that merge
We believe that life is more beautiful and more livable when surrounded by things made by hand. Our work is created for those who search for this quality in fine crafts objects. We share this connection with those who own our work."

Terri Goodwin
Terri Goodwin captures dimension, depth, and color in her tiles and tile mosaics with each one telling their own story in detail. Terri often combines her handmade ceramic tile with concrete to create decorative garden designs to enhance both your indoor & outdoor living spaces.

"Bright shiny things have always made my heart sing. Inspiration flows from the patterns of nature as well as everyday objects.Casting my tile into concrete makes them shine even more."

Terri spent her early career as a graphic designer, but an interest in mosaic led to the desire to make her own ceramic tile. "Making my ideas come to life with clay set me on a new path of creativity and experimentation. I also discovered that embedding my tiles into concrete was an ideal way to show off their interesting shapes and bright glazes. In addition to being durable, concrete is an amazingly versatile medium in and of itself. I continue to experiment with unique ways to mold, carve, color and polish it."

Susan Cohen-Thompson
Susan Cohen Thompson 's art is deeply inspired by her relationship with earth and a spiritual kinship with trees. She is originally from New York where both her nature and art education came primarily from visiting museums in the city.  Thompson left New York for a rural college experience in Ohio where she earned a BFA. She has been self employed since 1980 and works full time as an artist ~ painting and making tiles.

Her passion for connecting with nature took her on two journeys into the Amazon Rain Forest in Ecuador. There she learned from indigenous shaman to connect with the earth.  This profound experience continues to inform all of Susan's art.  "I have been painting about nature since my childhood.  My paintings are not so much about how things look on the outside, but about how things feel to me. My art is an expression of my relationships with nature from an interior perspective. I see everything is interconnected and numinous."
