Basic human anatomy is fascinating! My ongoing interest remains uncovering innate strength. And clarifying use of our hip joints is key. The pelvis is our power center. Understanding and clarifying function of our hip joints is key to improving our movement and self-use. This spring, that will be the theme throughout my classes. HOOP DANCE BASICS

6 Wednesdays, 6:35p-7:30p, 5/17-6/21
 
 Hoop dance is all about having a good time while teaching your body to do new cool things. When combined with music and dance, hooping is a fun form of fitness and creative self-expression.

You will learn foundational hoop dance moves from core waist hooping to off-body tricks that will leave you fluidly transitioning the hoop on and off the body all while having an awesome time.
             
  
                   
  WALKING ALIGNMENT WORKSHOP
with Valerie Rogers
Saturday, 5/20, 2-4p  
 
Starting from the ground up we will learn how to align the body to achieve optimal health benefits. A healthy postural alignment creates more space in the body. With more space the breath becomes fuller, and the organs and neurological system begin to function properly. We start to move and breathe with ease.

 
                   
YOGA BLISS
  with Cindy Caperton
Sunday, 5/21, 3-5p

This workshop begins with massage ball work to release tension surrounding the shoulder blades in the back of the body and collarbone in the front of the body. We will also explore the language of the body to understand the energy related to each of these areas.

Then, with awareness of the breath, you will move through gentle yoga, deep stretch and restorative poses for the shoulders and arms.
