Welcome
to our first e-Alert.
Since
the launch of thepapalvisit.org.uk - the official site for
Pope Benedict's visit to the UK in September, we've been making a
lot of changes. There are new sections, fresh multimedia content
and we've improved how you can interact with us.
Keep an eye on the site as we move closer to the Papal Visit
this autumn. You will get the very latest at www.thepapalvisit.org.uk.

| What's new? |
In
this week's audio update we
catch up with Fr Michael McAndrew. He's Clifton's Diocesan Papal
Visit Co-ordinator and talks about how plans are moving along in
the west of England.
Lord Patten, the Prime Minister's personal representative for
the visit, visits Birmingham to view preparations for beatification
of Cardinal Newman. Click to read
more.

Check out our Parish Resources
section.

The
costs borne by the Church relate mainly to the substantial costs
associated with holding three major public liturgical celebrations
- one in Scotland and two in England, which together will
accommodate over 400,000 people.

you would like to support Pope Benedict's visit to the UK, you can
