World Hunger
The month of April is the ELCA World Hunger Campaign.  According to the ELCA, around 800 million people - around 11 percent of people in our world today are hungry.  The Stewardship Committee has decided to partner with ELCA, and raise funds to stamp out world hunger.  During the remaining Sunday's in April, we will be collecting money in the glass case located in the Narthex.  All of the money raised will go directly to the ELCA World Hunger Campaign.  Any donation is welcome, and we appreciate your generosity in supporting a wonderful cause.  Thank you!

Save the Date!
The Family Board will host a Ladies' Luncheon on
April 29th at 11:30 a.m.
All St. John ladies and their friends are welcome! This fun event will include fellowship, lunch, dessert, a short program, and a pretty "photo booth" to snap a few cute pictures of your group! Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for girls ages 6-18. Under 6 is free. Tickets may be purchased in the church office until April 25th.

Laurie would appreciate some donated salads and desserts for this luncheon. Please let her know if you can.
                       Noisy Bucket Sunday
                  The results are in.
The Stewardship Committee would like to THANK the entire congregation for their generosity during our annual Noisy Bucket Sunday.  The first service collected $497.33 and the second service collected $484.53 for a grand total of $981.86.  These funds will go directly to scholarships to send our youth to bible camp.  We couldn't continue with our ministries without your help.  Once again, THANK YOU for your donations.  It is very much appreciated.

To the GUESTS of the Meet and Greet opportunities:

Our host and hostesses have chosen their dates and now is your opportunity to sign up for a little fun and relaxation along with getting to know Pastor Russ and Susan a little better.  But just as important, Pastor and Susan will get to know you and your family a little better, too.

Signup sheets will be available in the Narthex or Kathy's office so please check your calendars and get your names on the lists!  Warm weather is coming and this is a perfect time to get those get-togethers started!

There are a few dates still open, so if you were considering hosting, please check things out.  There is always room for more.

Prayer Shawls are available for distribution.

We have 2 totes that are filling up, but very few shawls going out.  This is an opportunity for you to take one to someone you know that has an illness, sadness in their life or a personal crisis.  They are stored in the Associate pastor's office and can be checked out during office hours.  We just keep track of who is receiving them so we don't double up.
Shawls (and some laprobes) are available that are suitable for a woman or man.
The work is done on the church financial records that many of you ladies (and Kurt Hoeft) helped me with.  Thank you for your time.
Now the final effort needs to be on the historical documents. We need to sort what we want to display in the Narthex glass case, which items we want to make available in the church library and which should be stored again.
I will put out a memo in the eSkinny and bulletin as far as dates.  What I need to know is if you have an interest.  It will probably be a Wednesday morning early May.  Please respond to the eSkinny email address below and I will publish the date.  Thanks.
