Scripture readers are still needed at each Church Service. A sign up sheet is on the glass case in the Narthex.   Kathy, in the office, can provide the scripture that will be read.

There are openings for sponsors for Altar Flowers and Radio Broadcasts.   There is a chart in the office that shows the available weeks.  Please support these ministries.  Thank you to those who already support either or both.

If you have a specific hymn or praise song that you would like to suggest singing during the summer months, please write the number or song title on the back of your attendance slip. Melanie will work your favorite songs into the worship service.

During Spring clean up, records were found that will need to be gone through. ELCA guidelines for record retention have been obtained and soon we will need to go through the boxes and boxes of material to see what we really do need to keep or can discard.  Historical and legal documents, of course, will be retained (and some very interesting items have been found).  We will share our historical discoveries with the congregation at a later date.  A few "found" items are an 1800's Bible, church constitution and a very old cross. If anyone is interested in going through the record boxes as a committee, please contact Janet Petefish and we will try to get a handle on these records.

Youth Mission Trip

The St. John Youth left on their trip to Kentucky this week.  Let's all keep them in our prayers as they continue on this journey.
You can follow their trip on Facebook as they post along the way. Many pictures to come.

CONFIRMATION
Those students who have finished the third year of our confirmation program are required to write personal faith statements to put on their display board for the Confirmation Fair on Wednesday, October 4th. These faith statements are due Wednesday, September 27th in the Youth and Family office, but will require some work over the summer, so Parents - don't let your student wait until school starts in August to get started! Confirmation Sunday is October 8, 2017.
