Today I'm mailing off my check to go the next summers Jamboree.  Not the one that you are thinking of though.  My daughter is hooked on the Summit so we are going to the 2017 Girl Scout Jamboree being held in early July a few weeks before the big BSA event takes place.  I think Sophia wants to go and skateboard for four days straight.  I still haven't done the canopy tour or the BMX bikes so I have some things to check off my list.

Now that we are over the hump of Cyber this and Black that it will be interesting to watch the category and see how it ridges out the holiday season.  Typically it slows down a little but not nearly as much as the summer doldrums.  Of course with a Jamboree year this summer won't be a sleeper on eBay.

I got to messaging back and forth yesterday with a young collector looking for some advice.  When I referenced something that was covered in Thread Heads he replied he had never heard of it.  Well although it's been on the shelf for 18 months now this was a 10 episode video talking heads show that I did with Brad England for the Scout patch collecting hobby.

Thread Heads was actually not the first time I played around with this talking head video chat show format.  To support CarolinaOA.com I recorded several shows with Hank Birdsong in a format we called Cloth Talk 2.0.  All together we recorded 10 episodes mostly dealing with local topics but eventually expanding out in the later episodes.

You never really know what the best strategy on eBay is but over the last month I've been trying out a new one.  Most sellers batch their stuff and shoot their load all at once putting everything for the week up on a certain day.  I'm experimenting with a drip technique where I'm posting about 10 new auctions every night so I've constantly got stuff ending and new stuff going up.  In the very least its kept me more consistent on eBay.
Last night at the pack meeting Patrick got his Tiger shooting sports patch.  I know some of you will harp on me for not wearing a proper lodge flap that corresponds to my  Charlotte-Mecklenburg council strip.  Turns out many of the dads in the pack are from other parts of the country and we've got OA lodge flaps from all over on their shirts.  So until I hear too much grief from the local guys I'll wear a parakeet until this Tiger Cub keeps on the trail and we get to that point.

Yours in Scouting,

Make plans now to attend the return of a tradition that's been missing for too long - the Charlotte TOR.  I'm helping organize the show as a fundraiser for Pack 33 at Sardis Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.  We couldn't have a more supportive host.  The church just celebrated 75 years of Scouting including sponsoring two troops and a pack.  The show is being held in the 8,000+ square foot fellowship hall.  We have ample parking and many amenities in this part of Charlotte.
