In less than two hours I'll be flying up to the Northeast to pick up a collection. This one is kinda different because the owner made detailed spreadsheets of almost every patch in the collection. I'm kinda a MS Excel guy so that was very helpful for me and a first. But normally when I happen into these opportunities the stuff is piled up in the garage or a spare bedroom and the person says come get it!
Vintage Boy Scout Memorabilia Up First
My trip will definitely preclude me from getting another episode of the podcast out this week. It's possible this gentlemen will let me get some audio of his memories in the hobby and that can become a future episode. I've enjoyed using the podcast to interview guys that are true veterans in the hobby.

I know it seems a bit strange to have 2 blind trades running at the same time but hear me out. I know one reason people shy away from these is they only want to get stuff from their area. So with 2 conclaves coming up at the end of the month in the Carolinas I figured why not try a blind trade that was only swapping around stuff from 2 OA sections. So this CarolinaOA blind trade is a quick turnaround with stuff due to me this Saturday. I've got about 1/2 dozen traders committed so far and looking for more this week so we will see if it shakes out!
I shot a video to go along with the announcement regarding the website I'm killing off. However, this trip necessitated running my kids down to SC to spend a few days with grandma so I didn't get it polished up and out. My wife is pretty understanding of this patch hobby most days. She's offered to let me use the spare bedroom to house the collection that I'm bringing home this week. I've tried to keep all the Scout stuff confined to the basement but to spread this one out it will help to have a separate space in the house. I better not forget our anniversary this year!

In Charlotte, North Carolina I have an antique mall booth that is filled with nothing but Scouting stuff. I call this location my clearance center because I've marked down everything to move. A lot of what you will find there are items that are too bulky to easily ship from an Internet store. The booth is located in The Sleepy Poet which is a well established antique mall on South Blvd in Charlotte. The mall is open 7-days/week year round. So the next time you are in the area come check it out.
