I am getting this newsletter out a little late in part due to the fact that I had to meet someone at 9:30 this morning to purchase their collection.  Luckily we had already worked out all the details and price ahead of time even though I wasn't 100% sure I knew what was in there.
Vintage Boy Scout Memorabilia Up First
Can you keep a secret?  The collection included over 300 mugs.  That's grounds for divorce so I got smart and had the guy meet me in the parking lot of my storage unit in Charlotte.  After the deal was done the books, coffee mugs and Boy's Life magazines went into the storage unit (hopefully never to be seen by my wife!).  Geez just last night at our Den meeting I gave all parents BSA coffee mugs as thank you gifts trying to get rid of some.

The patches, neckerchiefs, slides and interesting pieces that might need to go in my antique mall booth came home with me.  The coolest thing that I'll keep was a wooden patch briefcase that I think I saw in the catalog many years ago.  There also might some merit badges and an Eagle medal that will fit nicely into my collection.
Scouting Auctions Ending Soon on eBay
This week I'm reeling in another collection Thursday.  This one I've got to jump in the car to go pick up in North Carolina.  Luckily all the mugs in this collection can fit into one box. My goal is to get a lot of this new inventory turned around and use a lot of the 3D pieces to refresh my antique mall booth.  The key to that being successful is putting new inventory in there every month so I need to get on that schedule.

My auctions ending soon include OA two-piece sets from several NOACs.  I've got nearly 100 of these listed so even though it's not a summer where those will be popular I hope I can find some new homes for them.
We held the last den meeting of the year last night before pack graduation next Monday.  I threw the families an ice cream party and the boys played some of the Scout games we learned this year.  One of their favorites is "Poison" which we play with a Gatorade cooler.  Last week we played "capture the flag" for the first time and they eventually got the hang of it.

Yours in Scouting,

In Charlotte, North Carolina I have an antique mall booth that is filled with nothing but Scouting stuff.  I call this location my clearance center because I've marked down everything to move.  A lot of what you will find there are items that are too bulky to easily ship from an Internet store.  The booth is located in The Sleepy Poet which is a well established antique mall on South Blvd in Charlotte.  The mall is open 7-days/week year round.  So the next time you are in the area come check it out.
