Well this was the scene yesterday afternoon upon cleaning out my antique mall booth in Florence, SC.  With the help of my OA brother and friend Charles Galloway it is all packed in the Uhaul.  I had a good run here so sad to close the book.  Oddly somebody on Facebook commented upon seeing this picture "huh wish I had known I live 5 miles from there".  Sheesh!

Today is going to be one of those days.  I spent the night in Lumberton and am headed to the antique mall there in about an hour to empty out that booth.  I am also meeting with the lady who was my bookkeeper to get all my paperwork and records from her.  Then I'll drive the 20' truck west to Charlotte and start setting up the new booth.

Back in January I mentioned going to a Girl Scout Service Unit Meeting (think Roundtable) and talking up the Girl Scout Jamboree this summer to see if any of the Charlotte folks would want to put together a contingent.  Excited to say that I got an email from a troop leader yesterday indicating that she is going along with some of her cadettes and can we join forces.  Okay time to make a GS Jamboree contingent patch! LOL

Has anyone ever rented a cargo van from one of the national chains?  I've got to fly into an airport sometime this spring and rent a cargo van (bigger than a mini van) to pick up a collection.  The website I usually go through only shows mini-vans so I figured surely one of the readers has done this and can point me in the right direction.

Do you collect vintage District or Council (CP) patches?  I've got a bunch of those ending on eBay including some Trail hikes and other oldies.  These were items I've been sitting on like a hen and it was time to get them moved on to new homes.  A few are kinda neat like the Black Eagle Lodge chapter patch listed below which I don't think had a sale on OAimages.
In a few weeks the get-out-the-word blitz begins locally for the Charlotte TOR.  We have 3 district roundtables in March that we are covering and I'm going to speak to a troop about patch trading as well.  My contact at the council office is going to help get it in the newsblast email.  The week of I've set up a budget to run Facebook ads to the local Scouting community.  So if folks around Charlotte don't hear about the show it's not for lack of trying.  You can visit the Facebook Event page for the show and tell us if you are attending.

Yours in Scouting,

Make plans now to attend the return of a tradition that's been missing for too long - the Charlotte TOR.  I'm helping organize the show as a fundraiser for Pack 33 at Sardis Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.  We couldn't have a more supportive host.  The church just celebrated 75 years of Scouting including sponsoring two troops and a pack.  The show is being held in the 8,000+ square foot fellowship hall.  We have ample parking and many amenities in this part of Charlotte.
