This was the scene this morning at the troop BBQ where I was put to work shoveling coals and manning the burn barrels. As I'm sending out the Hot Finds after lunch I can share that I sampled the product and enjoyed the pit cooked BBQ that Troop 33 cooked up. They are cooking a little over 9,000 pounds on 28 old fashioned pits with hardwood coals - don't get much better than that!
Vintage eBay Boy Scout Auctions This Weekend
This is a shot of the burn barrels that supplied the hardwood coals for the BBQ pits. You can't see it in the background but there is a mountain of firewood that we feed into these and harvested the coals with long handled flat shovels. Several troops in Charlotte put on BBQ fundraisers but I think most cook them on gas grills - not this old school way. But that's my impression of T33 is that they are the throw back troop in many ways.
My weekend of Scouting continues Saturday with Scouting For Food pick up and Girl Scout cookie delivery. A few folks have asked how they can purchase online cookies from my daughter Sophia. You can visit her
online store and have the cookies delivered to your door.
Going into the weekend I have
200+ live first-time auctions running on eBay. I'm going to spend the rest of the day building more auctions so I can keep the momentum going.
I don't know if any of the readers have ever attended a "meet-up". Now that I live in a metro area there are a bunch of these for just about every occupation and interest. The one I attended was for a couple of ecommerce platforms and I think I may end up trying one of them out. Nothing to announce yet but I'm always trying to think of the next project.
In Sunday's issue I'm going to share details from my Wednesday podcast interview with Russell Smart. I'll hold off announcing everything in this email but will cover the big details Sunday morning for sure!
