As today is Veterans Day I thought many of you would appreciate this picture of my Tiger Cub Den from Monday night. We made 3D thank you cards for Veterans by creating an American flag and placing it in the center of a foam board piece that was decorated with words of gratitude. Each Tiger was to then give this to a family member or neighbor who is a veteran.
Vintage eBay Boy Scout Auctions This Weekend
While I'm sharing pictures I thought you might want to see the fruits of my days long clean up in my patch cave. At least that's the name my wife has bestowed upon the basement in our house. This is my work table where I can sort stuff and take pictures. It's usually piled high with boxes and I had tubs underneath as well. But after a few days of sorting, labeling and consolidating boxes it's looking respectable.
One reason I had to sort and clean is because today I'm spending the majority of the time unpacking and sorting the collection that I brought home last week. 45 banker boxes with patches, books, neckerchiefs and all manner of Scout stuff. Should be a fun activity but I'm a bit OCD about sorting so this might take a while. I'll try and share pictures Sunday.
One more picture to share today. As reported in the last issue my trip Tuesday included going to Florence, SC to work on my antique mall booth. Oh boy was I glad that I did! It was like a bomb had exploded in there. Crap was everywhere and one of the uniform rack pieces had fallen on the floor. It took me a good two hours to clean it all up and add a little bit of new stuff to the booth. I also put up sale signs figuring that heading into the Christmas season I needed to give people a reason to shop for some presents for their Scout. Each of the last three days I've recorded sales from the booth so I think my efforts are paying off.
The news from my eBay store this week is that I'm running a
15% off sale on almost 2,000 OA pieces. With my auction strategy surging I have backed off running weekly sales in the store. But with so much more inventory coming online in the coming months I need to juice up sales a little bit.
