Q: What's Grace Church to You?
A: Read On!

Last week, we posed the question, "What's Grace Church to You?"  Here's a wonderful answer from Frances Malone, HTP, who says of herself, "I am a Healer and I seek Grace Church as a place where a Healer can get healed!" Her answer:

I meet Jesus there among the drums and healers

I hear angels singing in the lofts of the church

I am always welcome

I do not have to talk to a person to be healed or welcomed

I feel love there

I am comfortable there

I wish I lived closer to you

I seek shelter from the world in your pews

I love Grace Church

What's Grace Church to you? Let us know at eGraceNotes@GraceCollegeHill.org

Parolees Help Spruce Up Grace

From Wanda Miller, Junior Warden:

I think last week's parolee work day was very successful.

The painting in the school rooms continued.  The Choir Room was cleared out for the ballet class, thanks Bill.   The cupboard floor in the S.A.R. kitchen was repaired and the doors to the restrooms now close on their own.  Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

Thanks to Roger, Chuck and Harold for providing the great food.  It was a "man's" dinner and portion.  Thanks for relieving the ladies who usually prepare this lunch.  The cooks even let the workmen take home "doggie" bags and they looked very happy.

Thanks to Bob Jones for his usual fine help in facilitating the work.  Thanks to all of you for your help in this event. We truly are a common ministry.

Diocese Celebrates Absalom Jones

Absalom Jones was the first African-American priest ordained in the Episcopal Church, in 1804. Read more about him here.

Works will include ceramics, vases, mixed media, and paintings. Much of the work is for sale.

Please join us for the opening reception on Saturday, February 11 from noon until 5 PM.

The Art Gallery is located at 7000 Hamilton Avenue in North College Hill. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

This exhibit is being held in conjunction with Arts Wave.

Worship Bulletin Changes.  We know it is seldom possible to address all needs and requests, for all people, all the time. However, we regularly make format and content changes to our worship bulletin in an attempt to do just that, as well as to "use our resources rightly". As always, we rely upon and appreciate your feedback. Direct your ideas to Judy Handy (jhandy23@cinci.rr.com, 513-681-5829).

Nominations are now open for vacancies on Mission Council.
We will vote for new Mission Council members at the Annual Meeting on Feb. 12th. Any member in good standing may nominate themselves or you may nominate someone you believe would be a good leader. Please get permission from your nominee before submitting her/his name. Submit nominations to Mary McLain, Chair of the Nominating Committee (maryemclain55@gmail.com, 513-541-8509).

Cathedral Music Programs. Our Cathedral in downtown Cincinnati presents a variety of music programs, well-documented in their enewsletter.  To see the February issue, click here.  There's a link there you can use to subscribe to learn of future concerts.
Silent Prayer Sessions to Resume at Grace

Marjorie Shadd and Carol Lyon and are discussing resuming the silent prayer sessions attempted early last year. We envision these as guided sessions which will use themes, or varying approaches to meditation. When the prayer period is completed we will discuss the experience to learn what is most helpful to participants. The sessions will be facilited by members taking turns.

Sessions are tentatively scheduled for noon on the first Wednesday of the month. Contact Marjorie (513-853-0991, shaddma@gmail.com) for more information.
