Our Lady of Grace Catholic School
eLion's Tales - April 18, 2018
A Message from Mrs. Anderson
Dear Families,
What a glorious celebration was had by families both on Saturday, April 14th and Sunday, April 15th! Students receiving First Communion came together on Saturday to eat, pray, sing, and practice for their First Communion. Banners were made by all, individually created the way each student wished. It was a joy filled room in Stack Center on Saturday with everyone working together. This was one of the best occasions where Our Lady of Grace community shared their love of each other as they worked together. The Lord said, “Bring the little children to me.” How special it was for us to see parents bringing our precious children in preparation for First Communion. Please keep all those who recently received in your prayers.

SCRIP Reminder: Families have until April 30th to meet this year's scrip requirement.

VBS RETURNS TO OLG THIS SUMMER
July 23-27 ~ 9:00 AM-12 NOON

We are excited to introduce you to Jackie Cruz our new VBS Director!
“Hello, my name is Jackie and I'm a mama to three and my children enjoy participating in VBS. I think kids are attracted to the "learn by doing" approach that VBS embraces.  We learn about Jesus and the impact of his Word by the experiences we share with one another during the week.   I have been volunteering in various leadership roles with Vacation Bible School for the past 6 summers and it is always a highlight of my summer. I invite you to share in the joy that serving in VBS as a leader can bring! It takes many hearts and hands to make VBS in a parish a successful event.”
Registration forms for Campers, and Adult and Teen Volunteers are available on-line and in the Parish office.

Cummins, Bishop Emeritus of Oakland, for his 90th birthday and his instrumental role in the founding of FACE. Should members of the community be interested in joining the Diocesan community at large, the link for tickets is: https://faceofoakland.ejoinme.org/tickets-sponsorships

Parking Lot, Pick Up, Morning Drop Off and Assembly
Driving through the parking lot at drop off and pick up: Please limit your speed to 5 mph in the parking lot when children are around. This is a very important safety issue. The Somerset and San Miguel gates are entrances for morning drop off. You may exit Somerset and Anita after morning drop off. The San Miguel Gate is NOT an exit ever. The Anita gates are NOT an entrance ever. At pick up the only entrance is through the San Miguel Gate. Somerset and Anita is for exit only for pick up.
At dismissal, if you have a child in grades 4-8, drive in along the parking lot by the church unless they have a sibling in primary grades.     Please do not park in the shady area by the trees as that is the drive through area for cars picking up on the side for the younger children.   Older siblings always are to wait with the younger wear morning line up takes place. All students in grades TK-3 will be escorted to cars by their teacher or aide at dismissal. Wednesday dismissal is always 2:30 as we have faculty meetings that day.
Please be sure your child is on time  at the first bell as at the second bell each student has to be in his/her class line to avoid a Tardy slip.
Parents, please stand at the back of the class lines during morning assembly so the class lines are paying full attention to the Student Council prayer time and pledge. Please do not walk your child to the gate to enter school.
Important Notice from the Office
Please be sure to fill out the  Request for Medication to be Taken During School Hours  form for ANY medication including cough drops and lotion like cortisone cream. There are forms in the school office and   here .
