Our Lady of Grace Catholic School
eLion's Tales - December 20, 2017
A Message from Mrs. Anderson
Dear Families,

This is the last Lion’s Tale before our Christmas break. It falls after the third Sunday of Advent known as Gaudete Sunday, or the Sunday when we rejoice for the Lord’s birth is near. We on the staff at Our Lady of Grace Catholic School wish each and every one of you the most blessed of Christmases. As we end year 2017 and look back at the many natural disasters that befell so many of our people, let us keep those who suffered in prayer and not forget to thank God for the abundance of blessings He has given us. They far outweigh the tragedies and call us to acknowledge the goodness of the Lord - “for He sent his only begotten Son that we might have life.” Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas Wishes from OLG:  We hope you and your family are enjoying the Christmas CD enclosed in your Christmas card. The children also received a gift from the school so please ask them what that is as classes received different gifts. Merry Christmas to all!

Thursday's Free Dress: PJ's and Christmas sweaters are allowed on Thursday but be sure to check the handbook as no skinny jeans, ripped jeans, slippers, etc. may be worn. Students need to be safe and modest while in casual clothing.

Spanish Volunteers Are Back! The wonderful people who volunteered to teach Spanish in grades 3-8 are returning the week of January 22nd. Once a month, your children in these grades will have the chance to pick up some Spanish and learn of the cultures of different Spanish speaking countries. In January the focus will be on Spain. We are hoping all families will discuss at home what you know or would like to know of the countries being presented. Connecting home and school will help our students better understand the importance of knowing other languages and about other countries.

Mark Your Calendars: Wednesday, January 31, 2018 we will celebrate Special Friends/Grandparents’ Day. To attend the social in Stack, a reservation will need to be made. Look for more information after our break.

A Message from Fr. Tom

In January we have Catholic Schools week. I invite you to join us on Wednesday January 31 at the School Mass for St. John Bosco. Join me for Coffee and Pastries after Mass as we continue series on Feeding the Family Soul and see how to teach virtues to the Children.
On February 14, join us at our School Mass on Ash Wednesday. After the Mass join me as we continue Feeding Our Family Soul as we learn and teach forgiveness.
Peace,
Fr. Thomas Czeck OFM Conv.

The Somerset and San Miguel gates are entrances for morning drop off. You may exit Somerset and Anita after morning drop off. The San Miguel Gate is NOT and exit ever. The Anita gates are NOT an entrance ever. At pick up the only entrance is through the San Miguel Gate. Somerset and Anita is for exit only for pick up.
Please be sure your child is on time at the first bell as at the second bell each student has to be in his/her class line to avoid a Tardy slip.
Parents, please stand at the back of the class lines so the class lines are paying full attention to the Student Council prayer time and pledge. Please do not walk your child to the gate to enter school.
