A Message from Mrs. Anderson
Dear Families,

Fr. Paul was the 9:30 Mass celebrant on Sunday. His beautiful homily was focused on the words of St. Paul from chapter 1 in Ephesians. “I always remember you in my prayers, asking the God of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you will know Him better.” These are the words we would all do well to think about every day.

Parent of Students in Grades 6-8 - Please remind your child of the following.
No Missing Work Allowed!
Last week I announced at this point in the year all work assigned must be turned in on time. Unless some extenuating circumstances prevent work being done on time, you will receive a zero (0) for the assignment but you will have to complete the assignment. Next Thursday is Theme Day and you will not be able to participate in dressing up or doing any activities if work is incomplete. Please take this warning seriously. You are almost at the end of the year and good habits are essential for success.

Dear PTG Members: Thank you for treating the staff and faculty so well last week on both Wednesday and Thursday. The breakfast fare on Wednesday and the lunch fare on Thursday were so yummy and made a mighty happy group of workers! Thank you also for all you do to enrich OLG.

I had the pleasure of watching twenty-five of our children perform Peter Pan at the Amador Theater last Saturday night. Our small school does a marvelous job of teaching curriculum but it also has been able to provide a space for after school programs that enrich and provide students opportunity to share their other gifts. Congratulations to all the fine actors/actresses who were able to be part of the Performing Arts Academy!

Heifer International Faire!

Sponsored by the 7th grade at lunch time recess on Thursday, May 24th. Baked goods, root beer floats, items for sale, and games! $1 - $4.

Every Wednesday is Waste Free!

Please pack a lunch with containers you can take back home to eliminate as much waste as possible at OLG.

VBS RETURNS TO OLG THIS SUMMER
July 23-27 ~ 9:00 AM-12 NOON

We are excited to introduce you to Jackie Cruz our new VBS Director!
“Hello, my name is Jackie and I'm a mama to three and my children enjoy participating in VBS. I think kids are attracted to the "learn by doing" approach that VBS embraces.  We learn about Jesus and the impact of his Word by the experiences we share with one another during the week.   I have been volunteering in various leadership roles with Vacation Bible School for the past 6 summers and it is always a highlight of my summer. I invite you to share in the joy that serving in VBS as a leader can bring! It takes many hearts and hands to make VBS in a parish a successful event.”
Registration forms for Campers, and Adult and Teen Volunteers are available on-line and in the Parish office.

Parking Lot, Pick Up, Morning Drop Off and Assembly
Driving through the parking lot at drop off and pick up: Please limit your speed to 5 mph in the parking lot when children are around. This is a very important safety issue. The Somerset and San Miguel gates are entrances for morning drop off. You may exit Somerset and Anita after morning drop off. The San Miguel Gate is NOT an exit ever. The Anita gates are NOT an entrance ever. At pick up the only entrance is through the San Miguel Gate. Somerset and Anita is for exit only for pick up.
At dismissal, if you have a child in grades 4-8, drive in along the parking lot by the church unless they have a sibling in primary grades.     Please do not park in the shady area by the trees as that is the drive through area for cars picking up on the side for the younger children.   Older siblings always are to wait with the younger wear morning line up takes place. All students in grades TK-3 will be escorted to cars by their teacher or aide at dismissal. Wednesday dismissal is always 2:30 as we have faculty meetings that day.
Please be sure your child is on time  at the first bell as at the second bell each student has to be in his/her class line to avoid a Tardy slip.
Parents, please stand at the back of the class lines during morning assembly so the class lines are paying full attention to the Student Council prayer time and pledge. Please do not walk your child to the gate to enter school.
Important Notice from the Office
Please be sure to fill out the  Request for Medication to be Taken During School Hours  form for ANY medication including cough drops and lotion like cortisone cream. There are forms in the school office and   here .
