For those of you unfamiliar with our annual fundraiser, it is a chance for our entire community to gather together with friends both old and new to benefit Solel. This year’s event will have a fun, new twist featuring an evening of comedy, cocktails and cuisine. Get ready to laugh, with International comedian Benji Lovitt, and mesmerizing magician Robert Ray. Connections Dinner Group
Come to our Connections dinner group on Friday, January 19 immediately following Friday night services. We will be dining at Pei Wei Asian Diner at The Shops at Gainey Ranch (8787 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale AZ 85253). Socialize and connect with members of the temple community in a casual atmosphere. You are invited to a special Book Club event where Rick Goeld, Solel member and author, will be discussing his book, People of Windsor Mountain. Windsor Mountain was a boarding school located in Lenox, Massachusetts. The book tells the story of the founding family and features interviews with many students. Saving Amy is a Spirit-led community that empowers the marginalized transitioning out of the homeless shelter by transforming lives through spiritual mentoring, teaching life skills, educational advancement, and financial stability through employment .
IN THE COMMUNITY
Jewish Family & Children’s Service is offering a new and expanded session of Creative Aging classes. Creative Aging is a national initiative based on studies showing that older adults live longer and better if they are actively involved in the Arts. The movement is aimed at fostering an understanding of the vital relationship between creative expression and quality of life for older adults. All classes are open to adults 60 or older.
