Principal's Message

This week, our students were treated to Cascada de Flores, celebrating Mexican culture through storytelling, song, and dance.  The students enjoyed the presentation and were so happy to share this day with their entire community.  Thank you to PTA and doors of Fund a Need.  We have had an incredible year of arts so far!
Thank you to our second grade team for coming to PTA and presenting their expert writing unit.

Carol Nenni
Murwood Principal
From the Office
A friendly reminder to please put safety first in the parking lot!
  • Do not cut in (or out) of the line, or use the inside lane, to drop off and pick up your patient, we are all just trying to get through the carpool
  • Do not drive with distractions...cell phones and other potential distractions should be tucked away, and all eyes should be on the students, parents, and other cars in the parking lot
  •  Finally, we ask that when you are waiting in front of school to pick up, that your radio be turned down.
Thank you for working together to slow down, be courteous to each other, and keep our Murwood students & families safe!
From the PTA President
Thank you to Brittany Rosenstrauch and Julie Craik for presenting on 2nd grade Expert Writing. It was great to learn the process that the teachers take the students through from start to finish. The finished products were filled with such detail!

I missed last week's eNews and wanted to thank Ron Jones, Kevin King, and Colleen Wolff for all of the time and effort they put into the talent show. It was such a fun night and all had a great time.

Our Auction is right around the corner and you do not want to miss out on all the amazing items to bid on! Tickets on sale through the Murwood PTA website, or in the office.

District Master Plan

In June, 2016, WCSD passed a facility bond to upgrade facilities, infrastructure and improve energy efficiency in all Walnut Creek School District Schools.  In November, the Governing Board contracted with WLC Architects to create a Master Plan for the district to ensure we have a comprehensive blueprint to provide students with safe, 21st century learning environments.

Please join us for a second site meeting offered to Murwood staff and community members along with District and Architectural representatives to engage stakeholders in defining the How and Why Schools look different in the 21st Century on March 13th from 3-5 PM.

Please join WCEF - Walnut Creek Education Foundation team on OhmConnect? It's a program that donates to the school when you save energy at home. We need to replace eScrip this year and this program is free and super simple to join. Let Alison Gomez know if you have any questions about it!

Mark your calendars for our next Dine Out With WCEF event.
On March 8, The Habit and Yogurtland will both be partnering with us to give you a chance to take a night off in the kitchen.
Let's show a little love to our business partners.
Please check out our   February Business newsletter highlighting the local businesses that support WCEF and our school community. There are a number of wonderful discounts given for our WCEF supporters.
